Recording Artist and Songwriter | Lexi Love® x Team Cybergeist
Lexi Love® is credited as co-writer and lead vocalist on "Broken Wings" from Team Cybergeist's 2008 album, How to Destroy Something Beautiful. Created in the dawn of remote digital music production long before cloud storage and seamless digital transfers collaboration with drummer and producer Angel Bartolotta (Dope, Genitorturers, PIG). "Broken Wings" was written line by line over AOL instant messenger between Love and Bartolotta and later recorded in Love's bathroom, which was transformed into a studio specifically for the recording. Love's vocal track was self-engineered and emailed to Bartolotta, a radically independent process when most collaboration still happened in person or through industry gatekeepers and remote recording was far from standard.
The album brought together artists from across the globe and is available on iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Discog, and other major platforms. Following the release of How to Destroy Something Beautiful, Love joined Team Cybergeist on tour, bringing the independent recording power to live audiences. "Broken Wings" remains a cult favorite—an early blueprint for self-produced music that continues to define much of the music industry today.
Team Cybergeist’s debut full-length album, How To Destroy Something Beautiful, was released in Japan on November 29, 2009 featuring alternate mixes and masters, distinct artwork, and exclusive bonus tracks and remixes not included in the U.S. release. Notably, it includes "Tomorrow (Japan Mix)" and "Radiation Romance (PsyKill Remix)" as additional tracks unique to this version. The US version of How To Destroy Something Beautiful was released on July 10, 2010.
